Our Story

Barr Eatz was birthed by chef owner Barry Dodson, and his wife Anjaneé Dodson, who is the co-owner. Barry Dodson has 15+ years of culinary experience. While managing many restaurants throughout the DMV area, Mr. Dodson would also host dinner parties, and holiday celebrations in his home. Year after year, the rumors of his southern cooking would be the talk of his close circles.

While many may have thought his wife was behind the wonderful cooking, no one would have ever suspected that the mastermind behind the Southern cuisine was no other than Barry Dodson.

Born and raised in Maryland, Mr. Dodson spent his childhood Summers in North Carolina watching his grandma cook. As the years went on, his watching turned into doing, and the traditions of her Southern recipes became ingrained in his soulful mind. Her recipes will live on forever, because they have been passed down from her hands to his.
